The
recent addition to our product portfolio is Dev Rust Converter. It is an
“in-situ” preparation process where the equipment, structure, railing, tanks or
similar surfaces of the equipment can be protected and preserved.
The
Dev Rust Converter is different compared to other Rust Removing & Primer
Applications. While rust removal solutions remove oxidised portion on the metal
by dissolving in acidic solution, Dev Rust converter is a unique solution that
can be applied on iron or steel surfaces to convert rust (iron oxide) into a
protective shield.
The
working mechanism is that the Rust Converter reacts with rust, converting it
into a stable, complex layer which acts as a barrier to moisture and prevents
further rusting. This layer is dark purple or blackish in colour and acts as
primer for further process like painting.
Dev
Rust Converter is used in highly corroded areas, where rust removal is of
concern to clients due to the risk of under-thickness. Dev Rust Converter
can be applied to areas which have environmental restrictions regarding surface
preparation for painting.
Dev
Rust Converter eliminates the need for labour intensive jobs like scraping,
sandblasting etc. It is a 3-in-1 function – it converts the existing rust,
forms a protective layer and acts as a primer.
